The nature and nurture of morality...

Yesterday’s NY Times (which costs an appalling $4, a figure that just galls me) has a great cover article in the mag section. Check out “The Moral Instinct” by Steven Pinker. Scientists and philosophers cross territories here in fascinating ways. I’m still mulling a few of the moral conundrums posited. Of the five general areas of moral assignment, my allegiance with justice/fairness (okay, righteous indignation) is right up there with the cool kids. On the other hand, I am much more ambivalent when it comes to issues under the banner of purity. Hmmmmmm…
